This 82A Light Blue filter helps to reduce light from the Moon for more comfortable views. On the Moon it brings out surface detail; on Mars it is very useful during the violet clearing for studying the polar caps and the surface, while on Jupiter and Saturn it emphasizes the transitions between the various belts. Also it helps increase structural detail...
This No.21 Orange filter with 46% transmission helps to reduce blue-green wavelengths. Sharpens the boundaries along the plains of Mars due to the reduction of blue/green transmissions. Use on Jupiter and Saturn to enhance detail in the belts and polar regions.
You can progressively dim the view when observing a bright object, such as the Moon or certain planets, to a level according to your needs, whilst increasing contrast, reducing glare and increasing the amount of detail that can be studied. The 1.25" Polarizing Filter is the best all-purpose lunar and planetary filter.
In use the moon is easier to observe and does a good job of eliminating the street light smog from below our apartment in the city. It also helps to see the shadows in the craters and give improved definition of the surface of the Moon.
